If you are short of time and need to get a kettlebell workout in quickly to meet you specific fat loss or fitness goals then Tabata training could be just for you.

Essentially tabata workouts consist of 20 seconds work followed by 10 secs of rest for four minutes.

However, thisw workout is for 6 min (an extension of the Tabata Protocol and consequently more brutal)

Some great kettlebell exercises to utilise with this method of training are kettlebell swings, kettlebell snatches and kettlebell high pulls (all of which are compound movements), the following kettlebell workout video makes use of all 3 of these exercises

Brutal Kettlebell Ladder Workouts

Posted in General on May 28th, 2010 by admin

The kettlebell ladder is a fantastic way to build up to a peak within your kettlebell session and can be as brutal as you want!

What is a kettlebell ladder?
Basically ladders are sets of reps starting at whatever number you like and increasing by increments of 1 upto a set number of reps and if you’re crazy enough you can come back down the ladder.

A basic kettlebell ladder using the kettlebell snatch would look like this

1,2,3,4,5 reps with rest in between

If you were to comeback down the ladder then it would look like this…
1,2,3,4,5,4,3,2,1

I love kettlebell ladders because if you set off at 1 rep and have a minimal amount of rest between reps the kettlebell workout won’t seem as daunting as high rep sets straight off, you are in effect building up to your max set.

Kettlebell ladders can be as brutal as you like, you can use mulitpe kettlebell exercises for 1 rep of a ladder, you can use double kettlebell exercises, in fact there is no limitto this(only your imagination)

Zach Even-esh’s video highlights a great idea for kettlebell ladders using 2 kettlebells with swings, cleans, squats and presses.

Give this awesome kettlebell workout idea your best shot and let me know how you get on
