A kettlebell is a very simple device that can be utilised for strength, fitness and fat loss training.

Similar in principle to a dumbbell, but very different in practice.  The kettlebell has a different centre of gravity to dumbbell and becomes very unstable when lifted (not unlike a dumbbell with a hinge), which triggers instability which is an excellent scenario for core training and fitness.

Origins of the kettlebell are unknown, some claim Russia to be it’s birth place and others Greece, China and Scotland. Regardless kettlebells are great for your health and will always be promoted as a great device for getting you to meet your health and fitness goals

The kettlebell has often been described as looking like a cannonball with a handle or a kettle with a heavy bottom and no spout.

Kettlebells come with many different shaped and sized handles as well as varying base sizes that when used correctly with the right technique and rest rates will deliver to you the results you want.

Check out the pictures below and notice the different sized handles and thickness… both are kettlebells and both are good to use for all kettlebell movements

Kettlebell are available in weight ranging from around 2kg to 92kg, which begs the question…. what size kettlebell should I use
